Technical Notes

Recording is done with cheap (£30-£50) USB-stick device. Quality differs from poor (Chiesa/Zupancic) to good (Badiou/Zizek). It is all audiable.

Encoding

Encoding is done in Ogg Vorbis, because:

• its specification is in the public domain
• most of its utility sofware and libraries are released under Free Software licenses

How and when is best to download?

NOTE: This server is in a small office, on 512/256 ADSL, hosted by friends. Downloads will not be very fast. Be patient. If too many downloads are attempted during GMT office hours, we might put files off-line. If you like having access to these files, please follow these guideliness:

• download only single file at once
• Best time to download them is 20-09h GMT, out of office hours.

If this practice of recording continues, i'll try to find a place with decent bandwidth, so that we don't have to worry about the above guideliness/limitations. Thanks.
