Development process

SocialTools is an Open Organization.

The project's main development effort revolves around maintaining and improving ServerConfigStandard, a recipe for setting up a SocialTools server. Here's how it's done:

New ideas are discussed on the socialtools-dev mailing list.

Once we reach version 1.0, the following process will be used:

When there's a consensus that an idea should go ahead (at least experimentally), someone tries it out, and documents it in ServerConfigExperimental. When there's a consensus that the new documentation is stable, it is moved into ServerConfigStandard, and that document's version number is incremented.
