28 Jul 2003 -- Added DNS+Apache+Postfix+Sympa virtual host lists.attac.org.uk.

21 Jul 2003 -- Patched /usr/lib/python2.1/viewcvs/viewcvs.py with this change, to fix a cross-site scripting vulnerability. Left the original version of the file in viewcvs.py.orig.

19 Jul 2003 -- Upgraded Sympa to version 3.4.4.3, which fixes the problem I'd had with 3.4.4.2. Added an Apache alias so that http://cvs.socialtools.net points to the CVS browser.

18 Jul 2003 -- Upgraded Apache to version 1.3.28. Changed the default name of the SocialTools virtual host from www.socialtools.net to socialtools.net. Added a virtual host for the French translation, outilssociaux.net (the translation isn't ready yet, though). Added a mail alias, devnull, which sends mail to /dev/null; that way , devnull@socialtools.net can be used as the list admin address for closed Mailman lists, so nobody has to read the spam notifications.

14 Jul 2003 -- Switched back to Sympa 3.4.4.1, because of an apparent bug in 3.4.4.2. Moved esf-uk-info list subscribers from the old list on southspace.net to a new list on the lists.mobilise.org.uk virtual host on rabelais, and opened the new list. Fixed small Apache problem (no icons in directory listings) by copying icons from /usr/local/apache/icons into /var/www/icons, and updated docs.

12 Jul 2003 -- Upgraded Sympa to version 3.4.4.2.

08 Jul 2003 -- Created DNS entries and an Apache/Sympa/Postfix virtual host for lists.mobilise.org.uk, in preparation for moving the esf-uk-info mailing list from southspace.net to rabelais.

07 Jul 2003 -- Fixed small problem with Clam Anti-Virus (freshclam non-zero exit code if database already up to date) in /etc/cron.daily/freshclam; changed StandardClam accordingly.

26 Jun 2003 -- Compiled and installed procps 3.1.9 from source; see StandardKernelConfig. Upgraded ClamAV to version 0.60.

19 Jun 2003 -- Upgraded kernel to 2.4.21.

26 May 2003 -- Installed Courier IMAP, not for production use yet. Removed qpopper, because IMAP is much nicer. Changed default mailbox format to maildir (see StandardPostfix and StandardMutt).

20 May 2003 -- For some reason http://socialtools.net was no longer working (permission denied), so I added a virtual host for it, pointing to www.socialtools.net. (note: When something like this is needed, there's a ServerAlias apache command for that reason. So, I commented out socialtools.net and added it as a server alias to www.socialtools.net vhost entry. - toni)

19 May 2003 -- Scanned for SUID root programs. Removed telnetd and gnupg packages. Restricted permissions on a number of programs, as described in StandardSecurity.

12 May 2003 -- Used Nessus to scan local network for vulnerabilities; as a result, disabled remaining inetd services except for POP3, changed BIND configuration to refuse queries from outside the local network (for now), and added Apache configuration to prevent Cross-Site Tracing attacks. Added all this to ServerConfigStandard.
